PRLog (Press Release)– Mar 10, 2011– Hong Kong – Sunrise Aviation, a pilot training academy based in Florida (USA), recently attended the APATS Ab-Initio and Evidence Based Training conference held in Hong Kong on March 8-10, 2011. APATS, the Asian Pacific Airline Training Symposium, was held in conjunction with the Asian Aerospace convention at the Asia World Expo near the Hong Kong International Airport.
The focus of this year's APATS event was pilot training schemes for future airline pilots especially the multi-crew pilot license (MPL) now approved in over 30 countries and being currently used by flight schools in at least 13 of those countries. Despite the willingness of many airlines and aviation authorities worldwide to accept direct-entry pilot graduates in the cockpits of today's airliners, the event also focused attention on the FAA's recent regulations preventing such schemes from happening in the USA.
APATS continues to focus attention on the needs of non-native English speakers to acquire sufficient English ability to perform communications responsibilities in the international aviation system. Another focus was the need to improve entry requirements and preparation in advance of the beginning of pilot training for those thousands of international students now taking pilot training in the USA and other English speaking countries.
Additional news from Asian Aerospace highlighted the on-going recovery of the airlines. Announced at Asian Aerospace was the purchase by Air China of five 747-8s in the passenger configuration and the pu garbage compactor review rchase by HNA (the parent company of Hong Kong Airlines and Hainan Airlines in China) of 38 Boeing jets including 30 of the yet to be certified B787-9s, six B777 freighters, and two more 787-8s in VIP configurations.
